Our Foundation & Calling

The Bible makes clear that in His day, Jesus Christ preached the Good News while bringing healing, signs and wonders to a lost and hurting world. By the power of the Holy Spirit, Christ still brings the same healing and freedom today -- "the favorable year of the Lord." Quoting the Old Testament prophet Isaiah, Jesus said:
...“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
Because He anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor.
He has sent Me to proclaim release to the captives,
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set free those who are oppressed,
To proclaim the favorable year of the Lord.”
...And He began to say to them, “Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.”

-- Luke 4:18-21 NASB (with Isaiah 61)
And we, like the twelve disciples, heed His calling to do as He did by His authority:
Jesus summoned His twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every kind of disease and every kind of sickness... "And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ ... Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. Freely you received, freely give."
-- Matthew 10:1-8 NASB
Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father. Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
-- John 14:12-13 NASB
